- Ski Italy Courmayeur ski in Courmayeur
Courmayeur
Brief Resort Overview: Courmayeur is located beneath the Italian side of Mont Blanc at an attitude of 1225m 140 miles West of Milan.
Courmayeur is very famous for its proximity to Mont Blanc. When you are in Courmayeur aside from skiing the Vallée Blanche and nearby Chamonix
you can also drive or bus over to Cervinia from where you can ski over to the Matterhorn and Zermatt, Switzerland.
Also you can take a free bus to nearby la Thuile and ski the Espace St. Bernardino Area to France crossing above the Little St. Bernard Pass on ski.
This is the same pass the Tour du France cycled over during the July 2009 three-country stage (Switzerland, Italy, and France in one day).
The Espace St. Bernardino; shared by La Thuile and La Rosière, France; is the only area where you can actually ski across the French and Italian border.
The actual ski area of Courmayeur is fairly compact and provides amazing views of Mont Blanc.
Principal advantages of the resort: This resort is great for those who would like a three-country holiday or those who prefer the friendly outgoing
nature of Italians versus the reserved and quite nature of the Swiss and French. Besides it is often sunnier in Italy.
The diversity of skiing and climate are difficult to match; and the views are breath-taking.
